I LOVE olives! Especially kalamata olives, but pimento stuffed green manzanilla olives are good too.

Yes. My favourite kind are kalamata olives. I'm not too keen on the green ones.

Sometimes I enjoy olives. Of late they haven't sounded all that great to eat. I have a couple small olive trees on the property, and if they make it to maturity, produce fruit, I'll need to learn how to can and preserve them. I'm really hoping some of my neighbors enjoy olives. :?

Yes, I love olives too. Black ones, green ones... I guess I have a slight preference for the black ones. Mmmm...on vegan salads with French bread and a glass of wine, or delicious on vegan pizza's!

:salut:

olives, to me, taste bitter/metallic/sour beyond measure. also their rubbery texture ["grunchy"] is off-putting to me, totally unappetizing. and if something is cooked with olives in it, even if they are all removed afterwards it does no good because ALL of their flavor has been imbued in the rest of the food they were cooked in.

I love olives. Especially with extra sharp cheddar cheese.

I used to hate olives but it seemed like, starting with olive oil and then garlic-stuffed olives, then having them on philly beef sandwiches with horsradish, I started finding their context.

I was the same way with saurkraut, hated it until I had it with the right things like either bratwurst or on a reuben (albeit I prefer my reubens without the 1000 Island - still not wild on that stuff).

I remember having supervisor who mentioned that the taste of olives for him triggered an instant vomit reaction - tried, tested, and found true when his wife snuck some into a spaghetti sauce. Glad I'm not in that position with anything I can think of, albeit freezerburn is close for me in that regard.

Someone told me that he doesn't like olives because sliced pitted black olives look like sliced dog noses.
