The real colour?

At the bar once me and my friends were taking flashing photos of each other. In the flash pictures I noticed my eye colour looked really green. In the pictures some of my other friends eyes just looked a brown colour.

When I look in the mirror my eyes look brown so are my eyes not truly brown but another colour?
