Uggghhh..... I am seeing one person for some individual DBT lessions before they consider putting me in a group... I'm tired of this lady giving me inconsistent advice, first saying it was great I was trying to find a job, then telling me later I was using "emotional mind" too much as the reasoning behind it so it's going to lead to disaster... Yes, I'm emotional that I don't have money for things in general... But to say it's a bad reason to do anything?

I'm soon to be in DBT. I don't know what to expect.

All depends on the provider. Lots of people out there who are licensed to perform psychological activities are just hacks who learned a few tricks. Sounds like the OP got a sucky provider. It's not the methodology, it's the application.
