Would You Date a Transsexual?
Probably. I'm a straight female, I have only knowingly known one transman who's had hormones and he passes so well that I wouldn't have been able to tell if he hadn't told me (even then I can't see it). If I became really interested in someone not knowing they were trans and then they told me I don't think it would put me off.

I guess there has to be mutual attraction ...
Saw a picture in some film encyclopedia (about Flesh Gordon) when I was very young. Been fascinated since ... spent some time on HungAngels, but it's mainly porn (hookers, pimps and johns) ... that's at least what it looked to me. I don't like the objectification a lot of transgenders have to deal with ... I'm more interested in transsensuality ...
I always hated it when I worked as a printer: the transgender studies dept. was nearby and when some MTF came by, my co-workers started to heckle her. She probably couldn't hear it, but by all the movement behind the windows and those idiots acting like baboons ... oh well, you get the picture.

Men, beware. If you date a "transwoman," you must know that you're really dating a man, so that would make you gay. Not cool if you think of yourself as straight.

If you want to use labels, why not 'bi-sexual' or 'bi-curious'?
She still has female features, so how gay would that make you then? And do you know that even a MTF can be a lesbian?

Exactly. I was thinking the same thing - it was a particularly ignorant comment to make. I find MTF Transsexuals sexually attractive. I'm not gay, 90% of my sexual experiences have been with females. I call myself straight, but if a label was necessary (which it really isn't), one of the "bi" ones you mention might be more appropriate. You simply can't draw a line and put people on one side and call them straight, and all the other people on the other side gay. That is a small-minded way of thinking hopefully which will die out with older, bigoted generations.

(Yes, I am one, thank you very much!)
Although I never considered it, being a heterosexual woman, I would if we were truly in love. I cannot control who I fall in love with. I do not think anyone can. Even if I was just attracted,I would. But this is not likely to h due to my sexuality.

Perhaps you don't understand the term "transwoman". You might be thinking of a cross dresser. I'm a woman - as in "really" a woman. I happen to have a medical history that involved a lot of hormones and some surgery, but that is in the past now and not really relevant.

Indeed. It's not relevant for anything. You are still male.

I think people assume me to be transsexual because I like to dress very masculine sometimes. I do it cause I think it looks cool.
I do not have anything against transsexual individuals.
My only beef with them is when they pretend to really be one gender to get a mate, but they are really the other. But their mate has no clue.
That right there is like, criminal.

Most believe they actually have a right to do that.

That aspect is grossly overexaggerated. There may be some scummy people here and there, just like there are of any walk of life, but the vast majority of trans people do not attempt to "trick" their partners, no more so than gay men "prey" on straight men (or, back in the '50s, believed that gay men "prey" on children). It's just a harmful stereotype.

Well, that makes me feel bad.

Could re-phrase the subject "Would you date an Aspie?". It's not dissimilar and has similar connotations that in some way they are not to be trusted and should be avoided at all costs.

And I have never met such a man who did not give away his altered state, whether knowingly or unknowingly. Maybe some NTs are easily fooled, but there is just too much detail that has to be changed - hip to shoulder ratio, pelvic roll, posture, speech patterns, voice tone and inflection, brow ridge, jaw thrust, skull to torso ratio, finger and hand structure ... my ASD has given me an eye for details that helps me to discerned that something is out of place, even if I can not tell right away exactly what it is.
And even if my "Transdar" is wrong, and the person does turn out to be a real woman, I still would not date her simply for looking too much like a man.
Yeah, I'm a shallow sexist pig; but at least I'm an honest shallow sexist pig!

The only people who would be able to fool you would be those who started puberty blockers at the start of puberty and took cross-sex hormones during that time. Basically, the males who never went through a male puberty, going through an artificial female-like puberty instead.
But, yes, I agree. It generally is quite obvious, the signs that someone is trans.
It's just that there are a few exceptions, those who never went through a male puberty, such as Nicole Maines and Kim Petras:
