Does anybody here enjoy jazz? I used to not think much about it because I thought I wouldn't care for it, but when I actually took the time to listen to it, I discovered that I actually enjoyed it.

I haven't progressed much further than Miles Davis' Kind of Blue, but I'm sure as hell planning for some time now to get deeper into it.

For quite some years I have liked the ''jazzy' progmetalband Dream Theater as well.

yes. I like many of the areas of Jazz. I particularly the hard funky style of the sixties artists on Blue Note that were often sampled by Rappers in the Nineties. Blue Note masters like Ruben WIlson, Grant Green, and Lou Donaldson.

There is a thread about jazz, complete with video posts a few pages back in this forum.

Two of the giants of Bebop were both probably aspies: Thelonius Monk, and Charlie Parker.

I like Miles Davis' electric era. I'm also a fan of Free Jazz people like Grachan Moncur, Peter Brotzmann, and the Art Ensemble of Chicago.

My favorite genre after punk...

Love Monk, Parker, Davis and Brubeck. I like old big band stuff from the 30s and 40s too!

...and Yoko Kanno, her music is good enough to make me watch anime!
