Right now I'm listening to the Midnight Special and I post yesterday in the facts thread that everybody in the universe likes at least one Creedence song.

Are you a CCR fan? I have been since I was a kid, my parents played them all the time. John Fogerty toured here just last year as a matter of fact. They are the most obvious example of American Swamp Rock and are a band I can listen to again and again. Songs like "Suzie Q", "Born on the Bayou", "Proud Mary", "Bad Moon Rising", "Down on the Corner", "Travelin' Band", "Fortunate Son", "Have You Ever Seen The Rain" and "Looking Out My Back Door". They were always criticised for their short and sweet songs, but I think that's what makes them stand out.

God bless you CCR!

Lookin' Out My Back Door
Willie and the Poor Boys
Effigy
Susie Q
I Heard It Through The Grapevine
Fortunate Son

"Fortunate Son" and "Effigy" are particularly appropriate right now.

I've only heard "Bad Moon Rising" and "Born On The Bayou", both are fantastic. So I think in light of this topic I'll attempt to discover more about this particular group.

That's just the tip of the iceberg my friends, some other good songs are covers like "I Put A Spell On You" and the excellent Vietnam warfare piece "Run Through The Jungle".

God speed you on your quest

Being, I'll bet, around your parents' age, I've always been a CCR fan.

They were one of the great gorups of the 60's.

For the longest time, I thought that the song "Have you ever seen the rain" was actually "Have you ever peed in the rain!" Nonetheless, it was very embarassing when I found out!

I've been there since the beginning with these guys.
They're great.
I have all of their LPs and a few of the CD compilations.
BTW, I always have to pee (A LOT!) when it rains. It's just Mother Nature calling her water and I respond.
