Hey guys, I'm new here and I've been diagnosed with asperger at the age of 5 (I'm 24 now). I'm wondering if this is a typical aspie-trait? I've been obsessed with heavy and intense music since I was a young child, by the time I got my first computer and started playing video games like doom and fury³ for example, the atmosphere of it was dark and futuristic, typical gaming stuff. I'm wondering if there are other people over here that recognize themselves in what I'm writing down here. The hard part of it is that I feel completely lonely because of it, literally no-one I know has a similar taste as me and most people consider me as a hard drug-user because of my hard as nails music taste. I basically like stuff done by Katharsys, Current Value, Razor Edge, Broken Note, Chasing Shadows, Kindzadza, Meshuggah, Cyanotic, Fear Factory and Sepultura for example, who fall under the dark psytrance/drum&bass/dubstep/metal/gabber/industrial-umbrella. If you share similar tastes or just really like my post, please contact me, I'm basically here to find friends. Youtube links are also welcomed in this thread.

The only 'underground' music I listen to is The Velvet Underground, LOL.

- associated with Meshuggah, jazz-djent fusion without vocals
- my favourite, this is the first death-metal things I liked
- calm mostly, using sufficient technical complexity

A few things by some of my favourite boybands :P
Like any of them?

To be honest now, I do like Tool and Burzum. I've just kind of outgrown it, and might go back to it when I feel the need to.

^ In regards to there being other heavy genres except sub-genres of metal, I don't like how metallers 'own' heavy. I think a song can be heavy because of its intent; For example, I consider Meat Is Murder by the Smiths to be one of the heaviest songs of all time.

I get how it can be p**** for some people. But yes, this song is meant to shock and titillate when you listen to it, I think the affect is mostly due to the animal voice recordings and the mental images of them being slaughtered. As well as the song itself.

I wonder if my music taste is about the hardest side of the hardest (and I don't like it for "status"-reasons), because except for burzum, everything posted so far was too weak for my tastes, sorry for being the tough customer. I have this strong disdain towards mainstreamness in music in general (that includes dark and heavy genres), It doesn't need much singing, instrumental music sounds so much better to me.

What are you defining hard as anyway?

Well just google "Current Value - The Indivisible Force" or "Current Value - Faith", that's hard to me. The reason we are colliding here is because "hard" is a broad definition with multiple ways to interpret.

You can't get any darker and heavier than this I think :) This band kicks ass.

OH YEAH!! F***! !! That stuff is the s**t! Thanks alot!

Burzum's recommendation was also really good except for the vocals, I just can't seem to get into the typical BM vox, I wish I could, but I have the same problem with Death Metal vocals aswell, the music itself is really evil, really good! I guess these are the downsides of being into electronic music too long.
