I've been a huge fan for many many years. I suspect strongly that he is autistic (I've only been aware of the spectrum for a few months but it makes perfect sense I reckon).

Can't guess about who may be dx-able, so I neither agree nor disagree.
I like much of his music. Have 2 tapes by Teardrop Explodes & 2 of his solo LP's.
"Elegant Chaos", "When I Dream", "Ha ha I'm Drowning in your love", "Suffocate", "Greatness and Perfection" are personal favorites.

He is a very interesting aritst
http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=am ... p1z84ajyvj

For his old ballad style stuff I would sujest Scott 3 to start with
for his more recent "weird" material his new album the "The Dirft" is truly amazing but it may scare a casual listiner off but give it time and you will apreciate its genius

also on cope being AS he had a toy car collection that occupied nearly an entire year of his life which could be an indicator alright
