They say love always comes and goes, and this I do see with others to be true.
but I am left to wonder, will the right one ever come along, for me.
they say you go through many before finding even one,
but then I am left to wonder,
will I ever find someone when I can hardly find even one go out with, me.
when the nights get so long, and the days seem to last forever,
when the years tick by and hardly a friend can be found,
when I feel I have had enough, tis with dreams that I hang on.

========
Time passes)
========
-----------------
There is a knock on my door,
I wonder who it could be?
probably some damn salesman.
-----------------
she came knocking on my hearts door,
the fanciful dream of a life time comes walking on in.
she takes me by the hand into the magic of the moment,
a dance of life begins, a fiery romance without end,
everything is perfect, every thing is grand,
plans are made, mating rituals at hand,
bells sound as petals and rice fall.

========
Time Passes)
========

Fiery flames become warm embers,
the heated dance becomes a waltz,
for a moment all the world is right,
the joys of children no longer become a doubt,
holding her, was like holding everything, I was a king,
the past life hardly an empty dream,
as I hold her deep in my heart and arms,
seemingly forever.

========
Time Passes)
========

I come home to a letter on the table,
it tells of love and joy and of new dreams,
but not for me, for me its a cold november rain.
I look around, the dog is gone, the home title is missing,
along with all her things and many of my own,
the children are grown and gone, my hair graying.

========
Time Passes)
========

Some years pass,
Thinking back,
of all the lonely times,
of the love and heart break,
and of what years remain me.
and I think to my self,
The dance, at least I got to enjoy the dance.

-----------------------
There is a knock on my door,
I wonder who it could be?
probably some damn bible thumper.

This is great stuff, I can definitely identify with the last line of loneliness. :(

I love your work. It gave me chills reading it, especially near the end, while reflecting on the original thesis that to have loved for a moment is better than to have never loved at all. It's one of my favorite expressions put into demonstration. And the bible thumper is a new hope (for love) am I wrong? It's the message I got I just wasn't sure. Writings such as this can often carry multiple meanings, sometimes too personal to the author for the reader to even think of. Even so, great writing! I can tell you poured your heart and soul into this one!
