Great song. I number of artists have done great versions. Gloria Gayner's original disco version still packs the dance floor at parties (I used to be a party dj- the song saved me a lot of times). Dianna Ross did a warp speed techno version.

I like my CAKE version. I'm big on guitar and the horn section at the end.

Gloria Gaynor brings back memories of dancing with my cousin so it's hard to hear.

Ive noticed that you favored the Cake version before. Curious that your favorite version is only one I am aware of sung by a male lead singer (its kinda thought of as a feminist anthem). Though I like his verison too myself.

This one has so many triggers I can barely listen, but it's therapeutic.

1) It was my friendship song with Kristy.

2) It was playing during the ... problem at Kristy's house.

This has nothing to do with breakups, but I watched this YouTuber a lot after my breakup. Very helpful. I guess she helped me figure out who I was again.

Also, not about breakups. It was about remembering who I was.
