My boyfriend is 6'2, and weighs roughly 220 lbs. He carries it well.

I like fat men. I can't say I'm a fan of morbidly obese though.

Yes but most attractive women date men who are of a similar, or in some cases a higher level of attractiveness, and fat men aren't part of that equation.

I beg to differ.

I know a guy who isn't all that attractive, and is overweight and short. He has a hot girlfriend.

Then again, he's a very cool dude who's an airplane pilot. And he's never let his 'geekiness' stand in his way.

That's because he has money.

oh, ok. now i think i understand... if a man is overweight and short and geeky, he must be rich because that's what hot women care about.

Money gets you a long way. Your beer guy, bald spots, and Star Trek memorabilia collection don't.

Wow, the cynicism in this thread is just depressing. My bf is chubby and collecting disability checks and I love him because he is good to me. He's a sweet person and we click very well. I'm not a "hot" girl but I would rather have a man who cares for me than a sugar daddy that buys me things just so I'll sleep with him. :/

I love mass generalisations,

It's a sure sign of a serious character defect when you can claim to speak for all 6.8 billion of us on this planet

Well that's fine if you want to date a person who is just as unhealthy as you are and unwilling to take care of themselves, thus eventually dying of coronary disease or something else. i'd rather date a healthy woman who i don't have to worry about croaking of a heart attack at 30. Happy 2011!

He gets exercise as a martial artist. He is on medication that makes him a little chubby and at least he has empathy. I love how you assume that "chubby" equates to "morbidly obese." They are not the same thing. Someone can be a little chubby but not so much as it threatens their quality of life. Of course, you'll probably dismiss this as you are soooo superior to us fat people.

First, the medication excuse is something most fat people use; that or a thyroid problem, which is always an excuse for not eating right and lack of exercise. Secondly, you do not need to be morbidly obese to have things like hypertension or heart disease; anyone who is at least over weight is at a greater risk than someone who takes care of themselves and is at a normal weight. if you don't believe me ask your health care professional.

Actually thyroid problems do cause weight problems. Medications is more of an excuse, because its the person on the meds who eats more than they need to. I was on fat medication as a teen, when they were trying to find which one I needed, and I ate too much and gained about 30kgs. I could have controlled myself more.

People with imbalanced thyroids - They don't have any concious control over the thyroid gland.

Of course people should eat right and excersise, thats a given, but in this case the person also needs a healthy and correct dose of thyroxine.

A lot of normal sized and skinny people also have severe health problems. If someone large starved themselves to look "healthy" their insides would say another story.

It all depends.

Yes but thyroid problems are not common; its something that people who defend obesity usually throw out there and obesity should not be acceptable, which it has become.
