Ok, i'm raiding MSN profiles who live near me and fit descriptions of what I like. They are the single and looking ones. It's really hard to find ones that are REAL people (not pornonuts) but they are out there. I had a couple meetings with girls already and they turned out to be shallow or very boring.

So...here I go again! After I got over the last letdown I got the confidence to go do it again. Does anyone else think this is a good idea? I'm looking mainly for female input here.

Thanks..

I wouldn't reccomend the internet to anyone.

Meeting in person is alot different from talking on a computer, and when you meet it can be strained, have nothing to talk about.

It breaks the fantasy and becomes a reality, which some people can't cope with.

I met my husband over the internet newsgroups. We spent a lot of time getting to know each other through shared interests. I wouldn't feel comfortable with an online "dating service" but I see nothing wrong with getting to know other people from online. I've met a lot of folks who I met over the internet, and while they are sometimes a little different and sometimes a lot different, usually it's a better thing.

Just don't make any decisions about someone based on their internet interaction. Some people are really good at upholding a fantasy in writing, but it falls apart pretty quickly once you're face to face.

Good luck with it.

True. I want to see what the person looks like in person.

You could always ask for a photo online. If you don't trust them, they aren't really worth meeting.

You sound like my friends...But I have met people through the internet already and for the most part they are true. One girl was really boring and didn't have any hopes, dreams, or ambitions for anything. Another one was just plain spacey...as in she had all kinds of friends phoning and messaging her. She was one of those people with a hundred friends and I bet couldn't trust one of them.

It's just like what alot of people say about Ebay. "don't get stuff off of ebay or you'll get scammed!". Well...if you look at the feedback rating of who your buying from and ask them a few questions then you pretty much know who your dealing with. It's the same with MSN or whatever. You look up profiles and you can kind of get the feeling on which ones are bogus or not.

Well...my msn is garbage. When I go to add people or even to look up anyone it goes into this "page does not exist" crap. I have to send email twice to anyone to increase the chances of it working. I think I have some troubleshooting to do here.

I don't add most of the poeple that request to be added to my MSN.

Alot of them are most likely sexually frustrated and e-hitting on you, so no.

MSN is what most people use so I have it.
Some people I know only have MSN.
I have ICQ as well since I have used it since 1994.

Yes. I have to use AIM because all of my friends use it. I have heard of places where entire towns use MSN messanger and some places where entire towns use Yahoo.

I see your point now, Halebopp!!

Just looking at all the girl's profiles is enough to make me puke!
I would say that around 70% of them identify themselves through sex or image! That is an alarming VAST MAJORITY!

On the flipside, the guys identify themselves with sports and what they own (cars for instance). They try to pump their image up as much as they can with the space provided.

Yeah, it's no wonder you turn them away.

Most of the gals on yahoo profiles in the Stl area are not very "clean" looking.
