How am I doing?

Location: Half of me is in the Washington state, the other Los Angeles.

So I found someone on OKCupid, she is in the L.A. area (just like I wanted). I will be in the L.A. area for the 4th of July weekend; how do I ask her out? I feel a bit nervous, as it were. I am going for that Anime Expo thing; she is too........ so I am on pins and needles here!

IT's too early to ask her out, unless you're planning on getting there before 4 July. It's 5 months away even if she said yes, there's a million things that could happen between now and then. Keep talking to her and see if the friendship develops. If it does, closer to the time (like June) ask her if she'd like to meet up/hang out at the Expo :)

you should be sure if its even a real person, or the right picture, not creeper botter or psychopath.

Don't be desperate. You seem excited about this girl and you haven't even met her in person. Just play it cool and don't have any expectations that it will work out. if it doesn't work out, there are infinitely more people you could meet. If it does, cool, but it's not something you should put much stock in, especially considering the fact that you don't live near each other.

I can only hope this goes well; as the reasons I want a SoCal girl are 1) I may move there, 2) I've had no luck finding WA gals that are like me. :(
