For me it was my mid 30's. Not sure if that is considered normal or not. I had a lady convince me that I was worth dating. She asked me out.
I guess it varies from person to person..

(Sorry. I am not sure if I am autistic. I believe I am as I don't see myself fitting the description of an NT, but I do seem to match the description of an aspie... But only time will tell as I can report back when I have been assessed).

Judging from previous posts in various WrongPlanet threads, some as early as high school (14 to 18) or about the same time as they get their first driver's license (~16).

That is a hard question to answer ..... sometimes it just comes with understanding of the value of another person in ones life , but many autistic do prefer, a more solitary existence .... seems it is hard to get the proper age of understanding, to know when the right person has come along . And provided you have made space for that other person into your life . (Just offering a opinion ).

I got way to many issues to have a girlfriend at this point in my life. When I was 18 though yes I will admit I could have made time in my life for a girlfriend. I also had an opportunity to date this girl in my college but I was stupidly picky at the time and blew my chance.

I finally started having good friends who were girls only in my early 20s. Only a small number of girlfriends, starting in my early 30s. And it took me 'til I was in my early 40s to inadvertently find the gal I married.

I've warned my bride that, since it takes me about 45 years to find a gal, she might want to keep an eye on my when I get to 90!

For me, probably when I’m dead. I’ll get my first girlfriend in the afterlife.

After the release of Half-life 3.

That's even farther than the afterlife.
