Catrin, you're a genius with pictures.

Maybe you could post something that reflects what our Bar looks like

(unless you want to leave it to our imagination).

I like it! I like the color purple (and the book "the Color Purple").

Ooh I like the purple. And Sting has the best hair. It does all the things my hair never learned to do. Although after 32 years I am finally learning how to make it behave so I don't look like a ragamuffin.

Tonight I want some old-fashioned wassail and a crackling fire.

I am too exhausted to do anything useful, like bake cookies.

I do not know. Are there any traditional folk songs from the state of New York. I am curious.

Really, I think we'd be more like an old English pub.

Forgive the lack of young people in the pic, but I'm feeling "old" today. Probably because I've been spending the last while hanging around my grandparents. :P

A ragamuffin is a little child who has holes in his/her clothes, has messy hair, and is a bit of a smart-ass (though in a cute sense).

After all is said and done, "The Color Purple" had an exceedingly happy ending.

Celie endured a lot through "The Color Purple," but she ultimately found redemption. She found her letters and her kids who were taken to Africa.

I believe "ragamuffin" was originally British. It was used much about 1850-1930.

yes Kraftie but that ending ..shouldn't it have been a normal part of daily life? it makes it a happy ending only because she went through so much misery

Sig I know a nice website for learning languages..but you might be too advanced for it -.-

It would be nice if life is always nice--but it's not. Celie enduring what she did provides writers with material, and readers with a great, inspirational story to read. It provides hope for those who feel little hope owing to being in situations similar to hers.

Let's have some swing music, please!

That is some good music.

I have a cold. I will just sip on this quietly and try not to sneeze on anyone.
