Due to the success of the last meetup which had a great turnout I've decided that I would be willing to organise something similar again in a couple of months. :D
Was thinking around March sometime.
Anywho much as I like a very informal meet (I'm willing to sit in a cafe all day chatting). I think it might be nice to have a specific activity in mind for the next one.

So I would very much appreciate some suggestions for anyone interested in coming to one.

Yeah it was a pretty good turnout. 8)

I quite liked the idea of visiting a Museum for the day.

It really depends on everybody's interests, as I would like to visit the Museum of Moving Image at South Bank, and take a trip on the London Eye.

But I'm ok with visiting other Museums like Natural History.

Museum for the day...Good idea.
We could meet in Kensington and go to the Science and Natural History Museum. :)

What else:

Trip to Camden Market
Hyde Park (Weather permitting)
Bowling
Cinema
Imperial War Museum

Sure. :)

Bowling and Cinema seem like two good things to do in one day.

Yup, though obviously money is an issue. We could possibly do something like go to a museum in the morning and then bowling in the afternoon. :)

I am actually going to be down relatively near London at some point during March, I can only hope that the date coincides with that. I'd quite like to go to the Tate gallery. Also, food.

You may be interested to know that London Walks now does Olympic walks:

http://www.walks.com/London_Walks_Home/ ... fault.aspx

I went on their Three Mills and Bowback Rivers walk back in 2005 and saw what was later to become the Olympic site. I've been thinking of making a return visit before the Olympics in order to photograph the place before the Olympic crowds arrive. I'm not likely to be in London as early as March and so probably won't get to the WP meetup but I would suggest the Olympics walk as a possibility for you to consider.

As I said, the Museum of the Moving Image was closed. See link here. I think it's re-opened as the London Film Museum. I don't know if it's the same building, but it's in the same location. Maybe we could visit there. It's £13.50 each for adults. Link here.

In case anyone doesn't have the money, maybe there could be a poll on here about what we end up doing. Also, I think it should be said that everyone needs an oyster or travelcard, as we're bound to travel on the tube at some point.

As for the London Eye, I think it's only worthwhile going on it if you can get hold of a few 2for1 vouchers...which I can. :) Let me get hold of them first though before planning the Eye.

I think that's the Museum I went to in '09 Smudge.

Am most likely getting the names confused.

Ok I'll make a poll soon of the ideas which have been suggested. :)

Also I figure we're likely to get something to eat at some point when we're out anyway so I won't put a meal as an option in the poll. I'm sure at the end of whatever we do some of us could find a pub or somewhere similar to have a meal . :)

Thanks for arranging the last meet up Gem, it was nice meeting everyone :) Looking forward to the next one, I don't really mind to be honest, I've never been on the London eye so that might be fun.

Glad you had a good time. Feel free to vote for the London Eye in the poll. :)

I enjoyed the trip to London and meeting everyone, will be up for meeting again, London Eye sounds good if we can maybe get some 2 for 1 tickets. Hopefully the weather will be kind to us. Maybe it could be a idea to have a back up plan of somewhere that is indoors if the weather is/was to too cold/rain/windy?

Mike

Yeah a back up plan is probably a good idea. :)
