I don't know if this counts as a quote, but I hate it when people are throwing "Good luck" to someone who is about to do something.

Feels like saying that the person needs luck and to bet on chances just to be successful, and not by his/her own perseverance and skills.

In my case I always try to minimize saying "Good luck" and replace it by saying "Do your best" instead.

When people constantly say , as a kind of filler phrase ,"you know what I mean". Other versions are: "you know" , "don't you know" and "you know what I'm saying". My mum and sister do this all the time. I always feel like I should answer them but I know it's not really a question.

"That's how it goes."

As a response to a gross inequity or unfairness. Similarly, "life's not fair" is a cop-out.

"Humans are pack animals"

"Chillax"

"K"

"You have a ret*d blank mong face"

"People you socialise with online aren't real people. You should be socialising in pubs instead."

"Let me give you advice on how to be just like me, even though I'm a douche" (that one's paraphrased, LOL !)

"The way you experience life is like a bunch of squares sewn together. You need to get out and interact with people in order to experience the great circle of life."

"Socialising doesn't really count unless it's done in person"

 What are they then, oh great NT sage? Ghosts? Robots? AIs? If that's a common one for Nts, why do they love FB so much? Are people unreal there too?

Oh Facebook, where the NTs thrive, unashamed to grovel for so much approval.

:-) Indeed.

It was somebody who I dislike and don't care what she thinks ; so I just replied that frankly I wasn't entirely convinced that *she* was a real person since she's so freaking odd, and remarked that I wouldn't be surprised to find that she was really some kind of failed Turing test.

There's no way she was educated enough to know what I was talking about, and I probably seemed a bit nuts... but that's great :-D my reply had the desired effect of unsettling her and getting her to bugger off quickly and leave me alone. :-D I view that as a great success ... LOL !

Another thing that I hate is when you say you're depressed (and you actually are diagnosed with clinical depression or an iteration thereof) and NT's who've never experienced it say: "Cheer up" "Get over it" or "You'll be fine"

My depression in the past six months or so is the worst it's ever been... and this s**t makes my blood boil. I'll add "You're too privileged to feel this way", "You think you have it hard", and "It's just a mindset. Be positive." That last one especially makes me red with anger.

Whenever people pass judgment on other peoples' struggles, especially when they've clearly never experienced it themselves, is enough to turn me inside out.

(nod nod) I totally agree ! !

I'll add to my list :

"For f**k's sake cheer up"

<sarcasm> ... because them saying that's really helpful when you're really feeling depressed, isn't it ?
I really wouldn't have thought of that myself, and their helpful suggestion really brightens my day.
That comment TOTALLY doesn't just seem designed to make me want to slap them in the face with annoyance.
;-) It's SO fortunate that other people are around to dole out such helpful advice. </sarcasm>

The phrase "Where's your other half ?" annoys me somewhat, as well.
It assumes that I'm in a relationship, which is rather presumptious.
It also assumes that I'm some kind of meagre half a person... which is just ridiculous.

... and when people tell me not to be annoyed by such annoying phrases as the ones we've all been posting, well guess what... that just annoys me even more :-D LOL !

Oh, another REALLY stupid one was "Oh my gosh... she's got legs !"

Either I'd been wearing a skirt a lot and then worn trousers for a change.... or the other way around (I don't remember which) .... but they kept going on about it like it was front-page news that I had legs. It was some middle aged guy who it was best not to offend, so I didn't say anything.... but did think "No s**t... what did you think I had ? Tank tracks ? Tentacles ? Some kind of anti-gravity device fitted so that I hover along ? "

People who say, 'I'm good', when asked how they are doing...usually, I just ignore it, but sometimes I'll quip 'I don't believe in original sin either, but are you doing well?' This usually gets a blank stare or a frown -- However, if they laugh back, I know they are a kindred spirit of sorts.
