Does this sound too pedantic for a resume cover letter?

Hi, I'm sending a resume off and I was wondering if this cover letter sounds to formal or pedantic:

To Whom this may concern,

My name is Shawn Jeffcoat, and I am interested in the product specialist position you currently have available.

I have prior experience working in a fast paced Call Center environment, where I helped Bellsouth DSL Customers troubleshoot their connectivity issues. Prior to this I have years of experience working in a fast paced, high pressure retail environment.

I bring with me a sincere desire to help customers resolve their connectivity issues in a timely, freindly and empathic manner, placing attention to details first and foremost. Only in paying attention to the details can issues be solved, and help maintain customer loyalty.

Thank you very much for considering the attached resume.

Sincerely,

Brendan Shawn Jeffcoat

Any pointers or advice any of you could provide would be appreciated greatly.

It's definitely not pedantic, but you do say "fast paced" too much.

Thanks for the insight. It's corrected and sent off.

Sorry, a bit late, but it does sound good to me. Similar in tone to the cover letters I was sending out a few months ago, and one of them worked.
