Hi,
My aspie son is 18 years old, on medication, and still has some misperceptions. I have come to accept these as long as they are not distressing to him. I have told him that it is unwise to discuss them with people outside the family so others don't react negatively to him. He understands this and complies. He does discuss these things with his younger brother and myself. I never tell him it isn't real because to him it is. By the way, if you have the ability to have your child seen by a child psychiatrist do so. You may be limited in your choice of doctors due to your location. Make sure you tell the doctor of the suspicion that Asperger's might be present. Having a diagnosis will help you get the help your child may need in school.
