I also remember when I was in high school. I was kind of considered an odd girl. Anyway, the day before Spring Break, our teacher in one of the classes decided to treat us to a VHS movie. She put on "Monty Python and the Holy Grail." The class started watching it and they made all kinds of comments about it being "lame" "whatever" etc. In the meantime, I was laughing my head off. That Knight with his limbs cut off saying "I'll bite your knee caps off" HAAHAAHAAHAA.
I was oblivious to the disinterest of my classmates, who were making so many rude comments that the teacher just turned the movie off. I was disappointed. I approached the teacher at the end of class and asked for the name of the film (this was the first time I had heard of Monty Python and I somehow missed the title in the opening credits. My poor teacher thought I was being sarcastic. I pulled a face and told her I was quite enjoying the film and mentioned the scenes that I liked (and started giggling uncontrollably again). My teacher smiled and wrote down the title for me. She also thanked me for telling her that I appreciated her choice of film.
I rented the movie a couple of weeks later. I laughed my head off (HAAHAAHAAHAAHAA). My mum watched it too -but didn't quite get it.
Ha ha, I love that film too.
"Look you stupid bastard you've got no arms left!" "Yes I have." "Look!" "'Tis a flesh wound." When I put up this poll I was originally thinking of the TV series, but yes, it is worth considering the appeal to Aspies from the films (which are just as good as the series if not better).
It's interesting to see the results that have come up, I didn't think so many people would agree with my statement... Ah well, good to see peoples' comments.
