Hi

I am looking for information and some understanding about absence seizure a family member has a diagnoses of AS, ADHD maybe OCD. Whilst I have found lots of information on the symptons and what happens when they occur.

I am wondering what are the negative effects, emotional, feelings, behavioural, moods etc for the AS child or adult especially if they are happening over and over in a day. I also read they are not common in people AS just an insight on this pls.

Thanks

Annmaria

Hi I'm in Australia, I found a web site put out by one of our leading children's hospitals.

I'll try and post the web address or link;

www.rch.org.au/cep/epilepsy/index.cfm?doc_id=3171 - Cached - Similar

I disagree with the part in that link that says an absence seizures happens when the person isn't conscious. Isn't aware maybe. I don't have absence seizures, I have complex partial and though I don't respond I'm still conscious. I can still have tonic-clonic seizures while conscious. I guess I'm just lucky.

I just wanted to say that.
