Eating for your Dosha-the Ayurvedic diet

Has anyone else eaten this way? There are three main doshas-dispositions-Vata,Kapha,and Pitta.Each has a very selective diet.I'm Vata and following it to the T,especially in winter,really helps me.A lot of warm grains,soups with vegetable (the right kind!) base,the right fruits (such as soaked figs,not dried figs).

I feel sorry that people haven't explored this system of eating and healing more,it has helped so much with my health.The Eastern traditional ways are so much more healing than Zone diets! Grains - Barley, Cooked Oats, Basmati Rice, White Rice, Wheat, Wheat Bran, Wheat Granola are balancing. Amaranth, Buckwheat, Millet, Oat granola, Quinoa, Brown Rice and Rye are aggravating. Legumes and Nuts - All beans except black and red lentils are balancing, such as adzuki beans, chickpeas, kidney beans, soy beans, split peas and tofu. Coconut, psyllium, pumpkin and sunflower are balancing. Almonds, Brazil Nuts, Cashews, Chia, Filberts, Flax, Macadamia Nuts, Peanuts, Pecans, Pine Nuts, Pistachios and Sesame are aggravating.

Meat - Chicken white meat, turkey white meat, egg white, freshwater fish, shrimp (in moderation) are balancing. Beef, egg yolk, duck, lamb, pork, venison and seafood other than shrimp are imbalancing.

Dairy - Ghee, Goats Milk and Diluted Yogurt (diluted 1:4 yogurt:water) are balancing. Butter, Cheese, Buttermilk, Cow's Milk, Ice Cream, Sour Cream and Yogurt are aggravating."
So basically I will talk about my Dosha,Vata,right now it's winter which is Vata season,as Vata is governed by air and can be flighty,unstable,gets sick/upset very easily.It's important to be grounded,to take time to balance yourself,take time to eat,to rest enough.A daily practice such as yoga or meditation is really beneficial and easy exercise such as walking/dancing.Vata's work best on their own rhythm,which is waking up early and going to sleep early.Spicy,salty and sweet foods are their favorites,and it's important to not have raw foods as they are hard to digest,same goes for dense beans.
I like to make fresh soups out of roasted vegetables and beans,I puree the beans so I don't have any digestion problems.Since I have a sweet tooth,I usually have a soaked fig in the morning while waiting for my brown/black rice and quinoa to cook.I put in some steamed kale,umeboshi plum paste,and that's my delicious breakfast! For lunch I have more rice and quinoa with soup,steamed vegetables,and sometimes more soaked fruit.Dry fruit is hard for Vatas to digest.For a snack,I've been roasting an apple (too acidic to eat raw) and putting that in hot fresh oatmeal with soaked fruit,cinnamon and agave nectar.My dinner is like my lunch.
I drink water only 15 minutes before or two hours after eating,otherwise it messes up your digestion.Same with tea.Licorice tea is really healing for vata,also a good liver detox tea with worthwhile as digestion can be hit and miss.
