Mother's Day (kinda like Valentine's Day, but specifically focussed on mothers) is happening here in Australia in a couple of weeks. I'm married, have kids, so my wife is a mother. Trying to think of things to do to celebrate the day or let her know she's appreciated.

I'm AS diagnosed. I'm stuck for meaningful ideas. Anyone else celebrating mother's day?

Mother's Day is happening here in Canada in a couple of weeks, as well.

Mother's Day is coming up soon here in the U.S., as well. I've got some ideas. You and the kids could make her breakfast in bed, or go out to breakfast. You could also go the movies, or go out to dinner. Buy her some flowers, or some pretty jewelery. Oh, and Hallmark has lots of Mother's Day cards! Do you have Hallmark shops in Australia, or other stores that carry them, like Wal-Mart? There's lots of things you can do.

I don't really care for that day and I am a mother. My husband will probably take me out or something. Then pretty soon Father's Day will be here.

Make her feel appreciated in any way possible. And also, she is not your mother, so make sure the kids do most of the legwork ;)

The above works well if you don't know what to do for her.

I usually do something really personal for my ex guardian because I know nobody else takes the time to do that (like her son) and she really appreciates it.

This year I am buying her a little froggy statue (because she loves statues and collects them but nobody ever buys them for her and cause she adores frogs), will probably get or make a card and I also set up a surprise day with her 2 best friends she doesn't see very often (like once every 5 years), they're going wine tasting and for a really good meal and other old lady stuff which they like to do.

My mother likes to garden, so I usually buy a nice blooming plant that can be put outdoors when the holiday is over. Miniature roses are particularly appreciated.
