Anyone else have terribly boring dreams? It's supposedly an alexithymic symptom, but just curious who can relate to dreams of going to classes you logically never went to, or internally consistent dreams of spending the day doing accounting.
For the longest time as a kid, I wouldn't even remember any of my dreams. I thought I couldn't dream, so I would daydream the most fantastic stuff I could dream right before going to bed to inspire those dreams of flying or being a dinosaur or...anything. Luckily, since being happily in a long term relationship, for whatever reason (be it age or just sleeping with someone else in the bed), they've become a little more memorable, but I've still never been anyone but myself, and its still things like carrying mattresses through downtown New York or being an accountant in Ancient Persia.
Still, I'm terribly jealous of people who have vibrant, crazy dreams of being someone who they're not, or someone who can go into a lucid state and just start flying around. I have some amount of lucidity right before waking up, but my internal logic won't let me just fly off while I'm at work or studying advanced physics at Oxford (which logically I never have, so I know it's a dream state, but its a dream state with rules!)
I guess one bright point is that I never have nightmares. So there is that.
