Hey there,

This post is to gauge interest for a meetup in central London on a Saturday in May.
If you would like to attend a meetup on a Saturday in May, please can you say what date suits you best?
The choices are Sat 11th, Sat 18th or Sat 25th.
Also if you want to come, please can you state your preference in terms of activities or make a new suggestion.

Suggestions for activities so far include:

trip to a museum,
a pub crawl,
a walk along the river,
a pub lunch.

Those interested so far:

Please note: that this post has been edited since its original posting. It originally was a general suggestion for a london meetup, but is now specifically for a meetup on a Saturday in May.

<--- Also interested if someone would send him a round trip plane ticket and two nights in the Savoy Hotel.

walk along the river

I personally wouldn't be up for a pub crawl. Pub lunch, maybe. Museums are good.

I'm very interested. I'd like to make some friends in London as I visit there quite often.

They all sound good to me. I might be able to make it later this month or next month. Prefer weekend if possible.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.
Any thoughts or feelings about the meetup being on a Saturday? Benefits of this are that people who work or study can attend. Sundays are not very good for public transport in London.
Looking at my schedule, Saturday 11th May, Sat 18th May, or Sat 25th are fine as well. Please could you indicate a preference for these dates or say your preferred dates?
Previous meetups have met in Trafalgar Sq in front of the National Portrait Gallery which I think is a good spot.

I think it would be cool to have a regular London meetup, perhaps once a week/fortnight/month. Any thoughts on this idea? Would you attend a regular London meetup?

I don't have my work schedule for next month yet so I can't say for sure but the 11th May should be good for me.

I've never been to any kind of meetups. How did the previous ones go? What did you guys do and how many showed up?

Hi. Here is the link to the thread for a meetup which happened in June last year: http://www.wrongplanet.net/postt198669.html
I meant to go but never did. I'm not sure how it went. Also one that happened in April: http://www.wrongplanet.net/postt192384.html

Is any Saturday good for you in May? Do you have a preference?
Also what would you most like to do?
Thanks

I have a preference for the end of may, because I have University exams until the 20th. Saturdays are fine.

I would attend a regular meet up.

Hi all,

Thanks for the feedback so far.
How do you feel about meeting up in front of the National Portrait Gallery in Trafalgar Sq and then going to a nearby Cafe?
There is a Cafe under St Martins in the Fields Church (which is in Trafalgar Square). www.stmartin-in-the-fields.org/cafe-in-the-crypt
Or would you prefer a pub?

Thanks

Simon

I've been to the Café in the Crypt several times. I like the atmosphere there.

If it would be in the end of May I can probably be there on the 26th. It's Sunday though.

Great. Sundays are a bit problematic though. All the London Underground maintenance goes on on Sundays and trains run a relatively large reduction in services (compared to other days). I think it would be good to stick to a Saturday.

Haha- I have been on this site quite a few times and its the first time I have spotted the scrolling topic review beneath the reply box! D'oh.
