Hi. I am an AS woman with an NT male partner. I love my partner beyond words and we are engaged. I deeply desire a lasting relationship and want a family... and so far we are off to a great start. I want him to better understand Asperger's; however, as I try and find resources for him they seem to either be strictly from the perspective of NT women with male parteners who are aspies or they are from the type of sources that talk about AS like its a horrible disease. He has expressed wanting to better understand AS. We both believe in the power if positive thinking. I am tirese oressing stroies where ppl bme AS for everything that goes/went wrong. I am looking for some positive yet informative info to share with him. If anyone has experience in a relationship where the female is the aspie orows of some good links please share. (I am sick of autismspeaks*tm popping up in searches and the like) Thanks in advance. Luv, risingsun p.s. as alwaya srry about the spelling am using an android phone that it touchy when i try to edit)

I haven't read it yet, but here's something that might be what you're looking for.

^^^
What she said.

I have read it and I highly recommend it. Most AS women who have read it also highly recommend it. Many of them went through and highlighted particularly important parts that applied to them before giving it to their partners.

^^^ What she said too :)

I have recently been diagnosed, and my husband is NT. Together for 12 years before my diagnosis :? I found this book really helpful, and had my husband read it too. It certainly explains things in a way better than I ever could, and is really positive.

If you are committed enough, and your husband is willing to make allowances, then you can certainly make it work. Sometimes there will be issues and misunderstandings, but then if you look at the divorce rates I am pretty certain that applies to NT-NT marriages too.

Good luck, and congratulations on your upcoming wedding.
