•Are you AS or HFA? Where to start. To determine this go the
newby forum below yours for my comments about that.

Here are some general idea's to start with....
1)...Eye contact and your interviews issues?
2)...Tone of voice and expressions, or lack of ...?
3)...Particular Skills?
4)...Posture?

I am HFA and tend to have difficulties even in the basic job
search(none-IT) in these areas.

Sincerely,
Ghosthunter

How do you grasp new things about a job?
•AS = Well grasped in many tasks but lack communication skills

•LFA, HFA, NVLD = early discovered learning dissabilities that affect
future job performance.

THAT'S ALL THAT I CAN SAY FOR NOW WITHOUT FURTHER DETAILS.

Have you tried asking anyone you know if they know of anywhere that's hiring? The whole networking thing - it's a huge plus if you can say "So-and-so suggested I apply here". Also I hear it's good to call or check back at a place a couple days after you've dropped off your resume, to thank them for looking at it and reminding them you exist.

I can understand. I am currently employed barely. I have HFA and
because it can create learning difficuties. I know mostly do aministrative
and menial tasks since customers service and sandwich making are
weak points. I get 10-20 hours a week. I am lucky to be employed.

You explained that you were demoted. Was, or is your job customer
service?

That Sucks! I had a job, but the manager thought i was being a smartass when i told him he had to explain things to me and that subtle verbal cues would leave me confused. He asked "are you always this stupid?" I had weeks where i only got six hours and a 30 dollar paycheck. Since then i have applied EVERYWHERE and havent heard a word, 2 years now, its pissing me Off! Employers dont understand, people dont just want jobs they effing NEED Jobs!

What would you say about working full time, 6 days a week, 8 hours a day, and get a whopping $20 monthly paycheck for your trouble, month after month, year after year? That's what my father was earning in the system alternative to capitalism. I sympathize with your employment problems, but I would simply say: consider yourself lucky that you weren't born in a communist country.

How did they find out you had AS? I can understand this job
specializing tactic as well. When my employer approached me
about AS/HFA I was given specialized tasks, thank goodness
he was a kind sort.

I have through good manners and politeness tried to get this job at
Starbucks but my strangeness is obvious and I am overlooked. Today
they had a job fair and signs posted for opennings for barista's.

I will sit here in the morning writing my "Intuitive" statement and see
how they conducted their interviews. The interviewers were looking
into the eye's rather inquisitively as the candidate goes in his question.
He then asked about the best and worst experiences and I suspect
they wanted to see HOW YOU REALLY TALK.

Most people talk and are recipicole based in their eye's(silent language)
and verbal in answering without too much tangient flows. The body,
and how one sits also said alot(silently).

I will look with hurt in my heart that being who I am is a punishment
in the job market and that is why I am writing this. If this information
can help our young friend(Spectre) then it wasn't a waste.
