What are your favorite cities? Mine are San Francisco and New York. I like very dense and vertical cities, and those are the two densest. I also like the mood of the cities, Downtown has a business-y, get-things-done, down to earth feel (ironic because of all the skyscrapers :) ), and the outer areas have a calm, happy and bohemian feel. I like the Lower Haight in San Francisco, and Park Slope in Brooklyn. I also like North Beach (SF), and the Villages (Manhattan).

There are more beautiful cities in the world, there are cleaner cities in the world, there are cities with more culture, there are cities with more history, there are cities with a livelier art scene, there are cities with a greater academic prestige, but my number one will always be Amsterdam. It's the city that birthed me, and it's the city that made me a man. I've seen my lowest lows and my highest highs in Amsterdam.

It's not just limited to the canals in city centre, but I also love Amsterdam East, West, Bos En Lommer, South/Buitenveldert, Rivierenbuurt, Niew-Sloten, Osdorp. Every part of the city has its own distinct character, yet when push comes to shove it's all Amsterdam.

Amsterdam is the city that's the Netherlands' portal to the rest of the world. It's easily our most cosmopolitan city, moreso than Rotterdam. It has Schiphol and Central Station, through which many people enter and exit the city; it is home to over 150 nationalities, and you'll hear dozens of languages on the streets. There are many interesting musea, several music venues both classical and popular, some great architecture (St. Nicholas Church, Magna Plaza, Westertoren), there's a diverse range of restaurants and cafeteria, the people are friendly, the vibe is good.

Nashville. Even if you don't like country music it can still be a pretty nice place. :D

Santa Barbara, CA isn't a huge city, but it's beautiful.

It's hard to top the SF Bay Area, though I might be biased because I live there. ;)

I bet you were on cloud nine, what with all the man-made clouds there.

Next on my trusty traveler's bucket list: Soda Springs, Idaho.

I wonder if their water is Fresca or more of a Dr. Pepper.

I have always loved Gatlinburg, Tennessee. I have memories of it from both childhood and the present.

For me, it's obvious. Look at my screen name (not the 'Equestria' part, though, the other half of it!).

I like Woodstock, NY. It's a village, not a city, but that's where I'd like to spend the rest of my life.
