Culturally, inside the spectrum, how do we deal with this the fact that our group is split in half and neither wants the other speaking for the entirety? I understand both sides of the argument and I believe both have been unfair to one another. For me, I want acceptance. I?ve learned all the social skills I ever want to, most of them are memorized ways to appease others. I was able to go undetected until my twenties and I love myself the way I am. For my younger brother who often hits his head against the wall when he becomes frustrated I want to help him find ways to communicate. For those who have physical aliments due to autism I want cures for those symptoms. But more than anything I want us to stick together. I want collectively for us to find as many resources as possible and to be the community that we all need. Whatever planet we're from obviously isn't calling us back anytime soon so we have to learn to function here.
What do you think?

I think we all individually make an effort to understand each others points of view and try to reach a comprimise with each other wherever possible. There is too much of a "my way or the highway" attitude amongst many posters in the Autistic Spectrum community, or we just ignore each others opinions. I'm just as guilty of that as other people!

I think that is basically what the Association for Autistic Community is proposing.
