Hi,

I've been thinking about starting an "Autistic Entrepreneur Network" that provides information/advice for people on the spectrum who either are running a business or would like to run a business, along with advocating for the rights of Autistic entrepreneurs in things such as tax affairs - in the UK at least, the system seems rather ASD unfriendly - and access to funding and mentorship.

What are people's thoughts on this idea?

Would anyone be interested in helping me?

Thanks,

A.

More autism orbs run by autistic people would be a good thing imo

I think this is an excellent idea! I've been looking for something like this--at least in Canada. Even if it's the UK, it's still something I've been searching for. If I knew more about business, I'd love to help.

That's a good find, I'll have to get myself a copy to review!

I'm hoping to create a resource usable across the board, although UK will probably get more focus early on as a matter of geographical convenience. That said, you could always run the Canadian side of things? Might be good experience =)

I've been hoping someone would start something like this. Something concrete to help us help ourselves, rather than, well, begging for scraps from the rest of society.

What a beauty of an idea.

I myself am looking to become an entrepreneur; I want to run some kind of residential program for teens on the autism spectrum which allows them to actually learn and not be put through the hell that is the modern educational system. You know, actually teach them skills, and none of the typical project and assignment BS.

That's the more farther future. I'm also looking to create a documentary about what it's like to be an autistic teen to be put through the education system (esp. middle school but also high school). Just to gauge the opinions. I'm saving up money till I'm 18-19 and can get the people and equipment needed for it.

But for now, good luck.
