I have developed a healthy distrust of anything that's too fanatical regardless of what it is unless it's something like fitness training or it just involves myself. I distrust all fanatical movements because they all seem to have their own weather system...if you will pardon the metaphor. They just develop into their own thing and no one knows where it will lead.

As far as I am concerned, any movement can produce casualties if it is fanatic enough because the leaders will not listen to anyone else. They become deaf, dumb, blind and their followers feed into it.

Why is Islam included in the diagram but not Christianity?

Simple. It is a product of, by, and for Christians, and also posted by a Christian.

You wouldn't want to reveal the heinous nature of those hypocrites who are responsible for the Inquisitions, the Witch Trials, the Crusades, the Viet Nam War, and Operation Desert Storm, now would you?

Oh, and I almost forgot to mention that America was founded on the Christian principles of Slavery, Subjugation of Women, and Conquest by Genocide.

Yes, Christians have a violent history; after all, there were at least ten crusades over a period of 176 years, and they began more than 300 years after the Muslim conquest of Hispania in 718 CE, the attacks on the Italian peninsula in 902 CE, and before Sultan Mehmed II and his forces laid siege on Constantinople in 1453 CE.

Crusades as an act of Self-defense? No. It was more like a land-grab and a chance to bring home loot and slaves.

If Christian politicians hadn't declared war on "Godless Communists", there may not have been a Viet Nam war.

And let us not forget the Christian "ethics" that led colonists and settlers to slaughter native Americans and take their land. "If you can't convert 'em, kill 'em" seems to have been the gist of it.

Extremism, in general, has killed hundreds of millions of people needlessly

All in the name of ideologies.

People just have to stop being so dogmatic!

It was self-defence in Europe becuse muslims did attack in many places.

And christians in middle east had a lot of problems with muslims, so the crusaders did go there and gave som help.

But not all was in defence, of course.

Christian politics did not fire bullets and bombs. It was atheists mixed with christians, the usa army. This is not like a crusade which was 100 % christian.

christian ethics its not about hate and slaves, its about love and peace. without jesus there would be no christians. tell me in what way jesus was a terrible man.

Self-defence ends at your own borders. What the Christians did might (might) charitably be called a counter-attack.

Nothing at all to do with the Christian occupation of Jerusalem which began with the slaughter of all Muslims and Jews present in the city, right? Contrast this with Saladin's retaking of the city. Rather than slaughtering all the non-Muslims he allowed them to stay and follow whichever religion they pleased.

Soldiers are weaponised humans. They have about as much control over whom they are pointed at as a gun.

Prove that he was even real, let alone a deity.

You also left out the sacking of Drogheda, the Williamite wars, the genocides of the Native Americans, the slave trade, the Northern Ireland conflict as well as the Balkan war, Srebenica genocide and Sabra and Shatilla massacre (all of which of the latter three were christian on muslim).

   Look at my location.

I spent most of the 90s living in a house around the corner from a RUC garrisson which was frequented every other week by improvised explosives. I can assure you that 'christian bombs' are and were, a very real phenomenon.

Religion and spirituality, all of it.

I'm a believer in God myself and I can realize that religion is the primary reason people have been killed and will continue being killed. It's a f*****g shame when we can't have world peace in 2015 and we still live like we're in the dark ages having wars against different beliefs.

with this kind of logic, people like saddam, assad, al-sisi, gaddafi are/were muslims.

but no, only christians lands and politics gets blamed all the time with this logic, so tired of it.

Uh, what? You should research the history between the IRA and Northern Ireland.

Also, deity

noun, plural deities.
1.
a god or goddess.
2.
divine character or nature, especially that of the Supreme Being; divinity.
3.
the estate or rank of a god:
The king attained deity after his death.
4.
a person or thing revered as a god or goddess:
a society in which money is the only deity.
5.
the Deity, God; Supreme Being.

It's really irrelevant which particular ideology is responsible for the most carnage and death. What is relevant is that humans are capable of all manner of ghastly atrocities when they embrace a twisted ideology that gives them superiority complex.
