Hi,
I'm really new to ASD and have been diagnosed as being on the spectrum just a few weeks ago. I actually sought out the diagnosis in part because as a middle aged person (I'm a transgender woman) I have so much difficulty in making connections with people. So the Autism community is all real new to me but last night I went to a support group for functional adults with ASD and one of the topics was people who can feel like they are aliens from another planet, and me and about thirty other people thought this was an interesting topic so we all sat in a room and talked about how each of us in one way or another can feel like we're an alien from another planet, and I enjoyed it and feel that getting diagnosed with ASD was probably a good decision, and I did seem to fit in a little bit, and I never, ever, "fit in", so that was nice.
Anyways, so I'm just saying hi, or "greetings Eathling" or "hi, from where ever you call home"
Stacy
