Without ever getting tired of it?

I listen to some song or watch some movie like 350 times in a row enjoying it every time.

Hell i watched FLCL so many times I don't even need to have subtitles on.

Yes. So much so that my roommates this year called our TV the "Monk" and "Evangelion" channel.

I do this once in a great while, when there is a song I want to learn or if I am depressed.

I do "loop" a lot, both movies and songs. I can do it with the whole movie or song, or with just a part or scene. I never get bored of it and it calms me down. Of course, my family hates it.

I usually do this with computer games. When I got CFS2 for Christmas in 2000, that was the only game I played for 8 months straight! I think I then played C&C TS for a while, then wenbt right back to CFS2. Lately I've been playing SW KOTOR obsessively. I need to find out if I could tweak my Athlon 800 system to run KOTOR II TSL the way I did with KOTOR I since they use the same exact engine.

I did this with Empire Strikes Back and some of the star wars music (imperial march and the victory music at the end of the first on) when I was younger.

Now days, I don't have the time to watch entire movies repeatedly, but I listen to Loehgrin act III, Riezni overture and certain sections of the Flying Dutchman over and over again.

Hmmm? I, when I was younger,
say early 30's, found this cool sound
track on "Bjorks" "telegram" CD.

It started with a fog horn, and progressed
into a watery sound and was hynotic....

Hnnnnnnnnnn! boing-boing-boing(fades)
and set of rythmes. One day I was
soaking in the tube and felt inspired
to play this particular song/sound
repetitively and found that it and
"Our Children's Children's" ©69' from
the moody blues have a autism
hypnotic effect in common. In
Madonna's "Ray of Light"©98', track
#13, Mer girl, combined with this
hypnotic track are now on my regular
and rather limited play list. Right now
I carry only 3 CD's worth noting,
and they are the 3 I mentioned and
don't ask me how many times I wore
them out to be replaced like some
habit adquired.

Hmmmmm? Yes, I do have my obssessive
track listening.

Sincerely,
Ghosthunter

When I was in the Navy, I used to go to Chicago every weekend to watch movies, ball games, etc. When "To Kill a Mockingbird" came out, I watched it about 20 times. (That was easier then, I got free passes from the U.S.O., and you didn't have to leave the theatre between showings)

Some of my record albums got played endlessly. I wore out three record sets of "Messiah", and I played the Broadway version of "The Sound of Music" over and over.

I get annoyed by repetition. Hearing/watching the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and
over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and o...................v...........e............rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I have a playlist with 5 Radiohead songs currently that I can let repeat.
It used to just be 3 "True Love Waits" "fog (again) (live)" and "Gagging Order" They all have a similar melancholy sound. I also have a couple other playlists with a few select songs that I put on repeat some times.

I was just thinking earlier tonight how I haven't seen the movie "trainspotting" in a while. It is always great to return to a movie that I know is good, very comforting. I have seen "12 monkeys" repeatedly and I love the part when they are in the theatre and talking about how an old movie never changes, but each time you see it you are different.

I can listen to a song over and over but I like to rotate my DVD's so they stay fresh.
