Actually, it is an image of someone else wearing makeup (complete with beauty mark), wig (sans lice), and a "Herald's" outfit that all look the same as what I have worn to several Rennaisance Faires.  I have had great fun with it, and will wear it again once covid becomes endemic.

Nor am I, but I know some. They haven't said anything about formal dress or anything, nor have I asked - but the info was available online. Might have been wikipedia I read it on.

That part seems a bit.. silly - however - "When in Rome," I suppose. I guess it's just about traditions and camaraderie. Probably doesn't seem so silly when everyone's similarly dressed, like a uniform, or day at some Renaissance fair.
