Okay I am a girly girl and consider myself to be one of the girls which I absolutely love. I didn’t become a girly until I was in 7th grade when I threw a screaming crying fit begging my mom to get me a pair of Uggs because every other girl had them. Eventually she got me them as an early birthday present and I had started a trend by rolling them over to show the furry part of the boot. As I got older I became obsessed with wearing makeup and I always wear makeup and I always have my nails painted either pink or red. I also love fashion and I absolutely love to wear dresses and spend a ton of money and clothes, shoes, hand bags and jewelry and I love rom coms and reality TV. It seems like other girls on the spectrum are often tomboys but I love being a girly girl and I am curious to see if there are any other women here with Aspergers that are girly.

I could but...
I'm too embarrassed to try.

Maybe if I'm in a high and meticulous mood.
Sometimes I could imagine myself but alas...

Partially because pride.
And partially because some stuff are not comfortable, too bothersome, not very accessible in my case.

But overall, it's not exactly my taste.
Maybe if I drop the BS...

I wouldn't say that I'm strictly a girly girl or a tomboy. There's a lot of styles going on in my wardrobe.

- 1960's style outfits. Plaid mini skirts and such.

- Sweater vests with plain shirts underneath.

- Flannel or a plain shirt. I really like having an open shirt with a t-shirt underneath. I'm drawn to grunge and bohemian. There's a fair amount of outfits that make me look like a surfer.

- Floral dresses and tops. My favourite thing to do is to pair florals with either a gothic look or punk. There's something about pairing a rough or edgier look with the gentle which I really love. It's a nice contrast in my opinion. Sometimes I like to wear a loose shirt over a dress.

Generally I consider myself to have a feminine side and a masculine side. I decide how I'm going to dress based on how I'm feeling. My make up is minimal. I only wear nail polish or none at all. Sometimes I wear a necklace.

Well I don’t know.
I was labelled as a girly girl when I was a child (-pre-teens ok.) when I was a preteen, I labelled myself as a tomboy. Now as a teen, I label myself as a girl. I do like girly stuff, I do like stuff that has been considered tomboyish, I like nerdy things and I like alternative fashion.

That’s just me ok?

Yes. I have long hair, love the color pink and adore wearing skirts and dresses… BUT I hate some other “girly” things like wearing makeup, nail polish, jewelry, glitter, uggs and high heels.
I’m also very thin and I wouldn’t like my body to have “curves”.

I'm some what "girly". I don't really wear makeup except for nail polish and I don't wear skirts or dresses, though I like wearing my hair long and blond but I don't know if I'm "girly" since I'm 8 months shy of turning 40.

What is a girly girl? A girl who acts like a girl? Girls can act however they want just like boys can, which includes not conforming to gender standards ... so yeah ... count me in.

You're my twin! :D And we're even the same age.

I like all those, too plus hair accessories. I don't try too hard to be girly, just try to look pleasant and pretty. I don't have a soft, feminine personality to match the exterior, though. :D

No. I consciously make an effort to buy clothes, like t shirts, that are styled in a slightly more flattering way, because I think I should try to look at least a bit presentable. But I don't like women's clothes. I would wear faded black t-shirts with a breast pocket and cargo pants and black canvas sneakers if I just chose what I like. Maybe even a chain wallet. I make an effort not to do that.

But I don't own make up. I cut my own hair and never wear it in any way but hanging down. I don't shave my legs.

Like every human I have some aspect sof my personality that are stereotyped as 'girly' and some that are stereotyped as 'manly'.

The stereotypes are nonsensical and we should ignore them.

I’m a tomboy. I dress up and wear makeup when the mood strikes, but the mood does not strike that often.

I mostly enjoy activities that are gender neutral - not super feminine or masculine.
