This is the Introductory Message ... Having gone well past the allotted 3 score + ten, many have endured my less endearing behaviors. Yet somehow, even with decades of CBT (& etc.) appts., more change would be nice; i.e.: how can an oldster with challenging health, mobility, & finance issues, "re-learn" the Social Skills stuff that hadn't been invented in the schools back then??? (1950's-60's) -or?- better to just give it up, as the developmental issues aren't fixable period.
PS - dx was aspergers (dsm iv times)

Welcome to WP! I hope you find it a good place to frequent.

And I cannot respond usefully to your question. Maybe a different forum could help?
Maybe one of these two?

Eh, I don't know if "give up" is necessary... personally, I prefer "accepting my quirks with a sense of patience and understanding" while being open to new ideas that might make life a little more livable. I reckon that applies to the brain as well as the body.

Anywho, hi :)

Welcome to Wrong Planet.

You used a lot of acronyms in your opening thread. Gee we are the same age.

You referred to yourself as working with CBT apps. What is CBT.

Cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapy. It may help you to change unhelpful or unhealthy ways of thinking, feeling and behaving. CBT uses practical self-help strategies. These are designed to immediately improve your quality of life. CBT can be an effective way to treat depression and anxiety.

The key words here are "depression and anxiety". So if I am reading this right, you are feeling depression and anxiety at this stage in your life.

In many cultures, old people are treated with a level of respect. The younger generation, will sit attentively and seek our advice. But in modern society, we are pushed into the back room and ignored.

I am not sure I can offer you any advice. Only that this forum is open to you and you can speak your thoughts freely.
