It appeared to me that the company issued me two of the same paycheck

When I told human resources, she phoned Corporate. Corporate said the check was good

Paranoid I didn't explain it correctly. But at least I showed her my bank statement. And that Home Depot will accuse me of stealing or something, when they reconcile the accounts

I wish home Depot would communicate in writing more often. That way I have written verification. Otherwise it is, "he said, she said"

But WTF ever s**t. Home Depot can do anything it wants, legal or illegal, and the only way to stop them is to win a civil lawsuit

My advice to you is to plead the 5th if law enforcement wants to talk about it.I am not a lawyer though.

Don't worry about it.

You thought they made an error, you called them to check, they said no. You've done your due diligence. Phone records will show that you called. You have zero control over your paychecks, and if they issue one by mistake, that's their error, not yours - and you reported it already, they said it was fine.

So don't worry about it.
