What could this mean?

A possible relationship or just friends?

He also mentioned taking me to a Christmas parade in December which sounds like a date

What do you guys think?

Is he a staff member with the day program or another participant?

If he is a staff member she should report him to his superiors immediately.

I sit on the state mandatedSpecial Review Committee of an autism services organization in which we basically review “incidents.” I have never seen that before, and had we seen that the staffer would have been run off the premises on a rail

I would say just friends. I remember you saying that while you are 30, you look a lot younger. Maybe he is acting in a big brother sort of way. If he is another participant, then he must have issues of his own. That will affect the reasons as well.

What do you mean he offered to bowl for you?

He basically took my place bowling while I went to the restroom which was a very sweet thing to do!

I didn't even ask him he just did it on his own

It could be just a nice gesture.

To me it sounds like he's planing ahead. It could be a future romantic relationship. It could also be way to express his interest in a friendship by including you.

A way to maybe find out without asking directly, if that's uncomfortable to you or maybe for him. Show a interest in him by asking if this parade is something he attend yearly and so, if he does by himself or in group...for example. It may be a way for you to nudge it in the direction you would like it go, friendship, romantic or neither.

He probably likes you in "that" way.

BTW, is your day program specifically for autistic people, or special needs in general? Who runs it, and how do you get transportation to the activities? Does your brother also participate?

IMO this seems incredibly cheeky and impatient, not at all a sweet thing. It sounds like your bathroom break was holding up the game and he didn't want others to wait.

Also, your title is misleading, he didn't offer to bowl for you.

I was thinking the same thing.
He likely would have bowled for anyone who was absent from the game.
That's pretty common in large groups.

What's with the Christmas parade?
Did he actually invite you or just "mention taking" you?

I'd be pissed if someone bowled for me while I was in the toilet and it wasn't pre-arranged.

Maybe you aren't a woman.

It happens to me all the time by men who think they're helping.

Pretty sure I'm not a woman.

These are probably the same type of men that say it's just for fun so not important, but also pay attention to the scoreboard.

Incidentally, I used bowling (among other games) to teach my daughter how to be a good loser.

You're such a good dad.

Yes, men are often condescending like that.

"It's not important honey so don't worry your pretty little head" vs. checking the scoreboard.
