"The Service Administrator must receive your application prior to, or within, 60 days from the termination date of your group plan."

I'm literal. Does that mean it can be 60 days AFTER termination?

I know it says "prior to" .... but then it says OR WITHIN 60 DAYS FROM.

To me it's saying before the plan terminates or within 60 days after termination

I believe the underlined is accurate.

Thank you. That's what I read too, but I really doubt that's what it means.
I've emailed the people twice and they aren't replying.

There's something about that second comma which gives me pause.

I think it should say "prior to, or within sixty days from ..."

With the second comma it looks likes it might mean "prior to ... or in other words .... within sixty days from/before the date" (meaning they don't want people applying a year early).

If that were the case though, they should say and instead of or.

lol

Yeah you might be over thinking it. I dunno.

You should speak to them to put your mind at ease maybe

I know it says "prior to" .... but then it says OR WITHIN 60 DAYS FROM.

Replace the "from" with "after". Thats what it means.

It can by any amount time before it terminates...or it can be up to and including sixty days after it terminates.

That how I read it.

I agree, but "from" can also mean before.

On 23rd December you could say "It's two days from Christmas!"

You wouldn't really say that on the 27th.

Maybe I should give more context. Here's the rest of the paragraph.

The Service Administrator must receive your application prior to, or within, 60 days from the termination date of your group plan. Your coverage will be continuous and will be in effect the day following the termination date of your previous group insurance regardless of when your application is received within the 60-day period.

If it means "after", then are they saying I can join sixty days after my termination date but later turn around and submit claims from the day after my termination date -- which would be two months before having joined them?

That's weird.

It's annoying they won't answer me.
If it needs to be received "before", then I need to get my ass in gear and do it ASAP.

It means you have to switch yourself into a-hole mode, and bombard them with phone calls until it is resolved.

I know but I'm so busy with other crap. ^
I don't leave voicemails -- I've never left one in my life.
I guess it means multiple email spams?

I could just apply now, but it costs $200 / month.
If I'm allowed to wait sixty days, I save $400.
