2024-1742.

The least known (and deservedly so) 22nd of Johann Sebastian Bach’s 21 sons, is no more. Peter Schickele, the perpetrator of such works as the Missa Hilarious,Einstein on the Fritz,Oedipus Tex, The Fanfare for the Common Cold, as well as other musical assaults, has died in Northern New York State at the age of 88.

May he rest in pieces :?

Johann Peter Schickele (July 17, 1935 – January 16, 2024) was an American composer, musical educator and parodist, best known for comedy albums featuring his music, which he presented as being composed by the fictional P. D. Q. Bach. He also hosted a long-running weekly radio program called Schickele Mix.

From 1990 to 1993, Schickele's P. D. Q. Bach recordings earned him four consecutive wins for the Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album.

Was a big fan of Schickle Mix, and of his alter ego...the last, and least, of J.S. Bach's twenty odd children...the composer P.D.Q. Bach.

This is in the wrong section. Should be in current events and news.
