Quote - “Most girls and women are prescribed the birth control pill and told to ‘lose weight,’” she said, but aggressively treating the metabolic disturbances is the best way to manage PCOS and prevent cognitive decline."

Wow. They do realise that oral contraception causes most women to gain a fairly significant amount of weight, right? Birth control tricks the body to think it's already pregnant. That's why you don't ovulate. Being told to take the pill and lose weight simultaneously seems like a recipe for eating disorders.

I don't even have ovaries. I wonder what that says about my brain health?

According to the research, most women gain little to no weight on the pill. There are always exceptions to that. I had too many side effects with the pill to take it, but I found a hormonal IUD helpful in managing my PCOS and endometriosis.
