L.I. county bans trans athletes from competing with girls

I know there has been much debate in the last couple years in regards to this issue. One concern I've had is would if would keep guys from joining the cheerleading squad whether or not they are a cis-guy or a trans girl.

Has anyone ever questioned why those who are male, but identify as female join female sports is because they are more comfortable being around females than cis-males?
