My condition makes it impossible to live a normal life. With anxiety and overthinking i cant do anything.

I have used paxil and it was relieving back then. But now it's worse because i dont use anymore. I dont want to, because i feel like an addict. Whenever i quit meds everything falls apart. At the same time i need to get my life in order

Would you think of yourself as an addict if you were diabetic and needed insulin to live a normal life?

^ FXE makes a good point.

Some people need to be on long-term psychiatric medication and there is no shame in that.

These days a lot of people take medications to lead a more normal life.

Those with allergies or breathing issues often carry special medications.

For 12 or 13 years now I've been on the same two meds for anxiety & OCD because they have been helping a lot. I've added a couple other meds during that time & changed a couple of those. I never think of myself as an addict. An addict is someone who feels a need to regularly seek drugs, meds, or other things even though what they're seeking makes their lives worse in the long run. Also their seeking causes harmfull behaviour. For example committing a robery to buy street drugs or regularly skipping work to get drunk at a bar & then having problems at home due to being high or drunk.
