I cut it halfway through it, my scissors broke

It is a lot better to let a hairdresser do your hair if possible, or at the very least, a barber.

Do you have someone who can bring you a pair of scissors?

I always cut my own hair. It saves money and stresses me out less.

Cutting one's own hair sure saves money, but is the cut as good quality as having it done by someone who cuts hair for a living and has a 360 view of a persons head without the use of mirrors?

I have heard of autistic folk who avoid the hairdresser or barber due to sensory reasons, which seems perfectly reasonable.

I mostly (but not always) just trim my hair, and it looks just as good as when a hairdresser does it. Obviously, YMMV. It depends on the individual and the potential hairdresser. Not all hairdressers or barbers do a good job.

I hated having my hair cut as a kid partly due to anxiety about others in my personal space & touching me. I once had a huge meltdown when mom brought me to a haircut place so mom had to bring me home. She was angry with me so I decided to try cutting my hair myself. It looked like cr@p & mom was even more upset. I hid in my closet & the door-knob broke so the door had to be taken off the hinges. I didn't put up much of a fight about getting my hair cut since. I also never tried cutting any hair myself, not counting shaving my face & crotch. I'm probably lucky I don't have claustrophobia My girlfriend has been cutting my hair since Covid. Buying a razor was a lot cheaper in the longrun & easier since it doesn't involve having to go out. Cass doesn't do a pefect job but it gets cut short so it's not very difficult to cut mostly evenly. Plus I have a bit of male-pattern baldness so I'm def not expecting my hair to look perfect

I been cutting my hair for a few years now, save money. I do good job, I cut my hair slowly. I bought cuttings scissors at Walmart. How do your hair come out? I have ALOT of hair, it can be too much to take care of it, I have thick wavy hair. I went on YouTube to see hair cutting videos, do you know what butterfly haircut?

We used to have a 50 bob barbers here.

I think a Bob was 5p in old money so I think it was £2.50 per haircut if I'm not wrong.

I think it is reasonable to cut one's own hair to save money.

In my area, you can have hair cut as a dude and by someone else - relatively cheaply, so I just do that.

If it was a substantial amount to have my hair cut though, I might consider doing it myself.

That seems like a crazy amount, even for a ladies cut.

The last time I went to the hairdresser (about 20+ years ago) it cost me 70 quid for them to make an absolute mess of my hair
