How did you meet your partner(s)?

I primarily dated people that I met through friends. The first person I briefly dated was my BFF’s brother who I had a crush on for ages. I met my first real boyfriend on an outing with friends from church when I was still a believer. (He went to a church in a neighboring town.)

It was fate. I met her as punishment for something bad I did in a past life.

At random, by chance. We started talking (she, of course, initiated), and discovered that we had a lot in common. Almost 5 years ago. I'm still amazed at my good fortune.

he was a friend of a co worker, who was also my friend. we both met the co worker for drinks and to listen to a local band. Co worker introduced us. You never know......

During my last and longest stay in psych hospital. We were both inpatients.

im sure 9 times out of 10, these relationships were initiated by the man.

I can think of 4 situations I was in, that were initiated by the woman from the get-go. In all fairness however, whether that happens depends on whether the person being hit on is attractive enough that a potential partner will choose to pursue them solely on the basis of having seen them. For both men and women, this varies substantially. Furthermore, in the 4 situations I mentioned, in today's world, those women would have probably just gone on Tinder to find somebody so I can see why younger people (men in particular) might find those stories hard to believe.

I initiated the conversation with my partner. I actually interjected myself into a conversation he was having with someone else. I wasn't trying to pick him up and I never intended it would lead to a relationship, but I thought he seemed like a friendly man and I felt comfortable in that situation to join their banter.

He gave me his number so maybe that means he initiated, although nothing would have happened if I didn't use it. I waited a few days and texted him.

I don't how that would all be viewed, in terms of who initiated. Without him giving me his number we'd be nowhere, but he wouldn't have given it if I didn't start talking to him first.
