What can one say?

If you're over a certain age...he was the greatest guy in the world in the Seventies and Eighties. Good looking football star turned movie and TV actor.

Then all non Black Americans became convinced that he was a murderer.

Then gradually and quietly Black America came to accept that too. Fame followed by infame.

The original trial (still an embarrassment to the California justice system)made great "reality TV".

I still remember when SNL wouldn't stop making sketches about OJ and they were terrible. If it wasn't OJ, it was sketches about the Monica/Lewinsky scandal, which were also terrible.

A lot of people considered his acquittal revenge for the Rodney King fiasco a few years earlier. His passing has been quite bittersweet here in Buffalo as most people here believe he was guilty but still fondly remember his time with the Bills and how good of an ambassador he was for the city after he retired
