I used to live in North Carolina and Fish & Game thought it would be good to reintroduce the red wolf in eastern NC. The federal government owned a big swath of land there It was f**k the concerns of farmers who live in this area and have land that adjoins the federal land. F & G reintroduced the wolves to NE North Carolina. The F & G paid the farmers for livestock killed by the wolves but the rub was the farmer would be fined if he killed the wolf that was endangering their livestock Needless to say the farmers took matters in their own hands and wolves were no longer reported. The wolf became extinct again. It sounds as if the same scenario is about to take place in Idaho and Montana
