I don't trust Bing's privacy policy so I did a StartPage search and got much the same result - there's no need for most people to shower every day.

I think showering once a day is over the top, and certainly not necessary for most people. It's probably more of a ritual than a properly thought-out good idea. Waste of money, bad for the planet. People don't question conventions enough.

When I was a lad in the UK, it was perfectly OK to just have a bath once a week unless you'd got yourself filthy before the week was up. Once a day would have been seen as excessive. I've never been persuaded to see it any other way.

If you live in a group home they don't care about what's ideal for your health, they care about ensuring no one stinks so badly it upsets the other residents.

Hair can start to become greasy with just one skipped shower and also, some people start to smell of body odour very quickly without a daily shower.

Everyone is different though, some people go in the shower or bath just once or twice a week (and that would be considered normal by some people).

When I was living in a group home we had to shower or "do hygiene" every day. I understand that some of the residents would probably not keep themselves clean at all and stink up the place if the staff didn't instruct them, but it felt very demeaning to me.

My skin would break off if I showered every day.
I don't bother unless I'm leaving the house / seeing people.

Yesterday after my shower, I was itching, I was scratching too, I made myself bleed. If my psoriasis gets too bad, I might end up in the hospital, when I was in the hospital before cuz of my psoriasis, it was pretty bad, I lost feelings in my legs, I could not walk at all, there was good news since I was so sick, I didn’t have a period for 5 months.
And THEY are making things harder for me, I been having meltdowns, I had two big meltdowns, I was banging my head against the wall, I wanted to rip out my hair, I wanted to throw things, I wanted to rip my nightgown off, I rip of 2 of my buttons. This was my second big meltdown, I knew it was going to happen, I lost it when someone came in & ordering me to take a shower.

My psoriasis would get worse if I showered everyday. I don’t bother talking showers too when I was in my apartment, when I’m home, I only take showers when I stink or to feel better. I take more showers when I went out too. But when I broke my ankle almost 6 years ago, my bones in my ankle didn’t heal right, I can’t take shower, I got a shower bend, kept falling off it, I also was very scared, had anxiety cuz my other ankle felt like it was going to break, I was crying too. I wash myself with a washcloth .

I'm lucky if I can get myself to shower once a week. It's an ordeal and I'm really bad at it. I don't know how to wash my hair correctly, and the feeling of water on my skin is a nightmare. I feel gross cause I know I probably should do it more often but it's just such an awful experience :(
