I'm nearsighted and have been wearing glasses for about ten years now. I need the glasses for distance vision, but can't wear them to read or do any kind of close-up work; it hurts my eyes and, according to the eye doctor, could possibly damage them
So I take them on and off as I need them.
WOW, SMART DOCTOR! Most are like MY doctors and say you SHOULD wear them all the time. My vision went from 20/25 to one estimate of 20/200! Without glasses, I am actually LEGALLY BLIND, according to the dept of motor vehicles. They define blind as anything worse than 20/50. Each degredation came after the next pair of glasses. 28 years with NO glasses, and 3 pairs within the past 8 years!
MY theory, backed up by actual anecdotes and some studies, is that the eyes get relaxed and weaker and fail to focus. The eyeglasses THEN go from mere correction to compensating for a problem they created.
So I would say LISTEN to YOUR current doctor!
