Hi, I have just joined and thought I would introduce myself.

I have 2 kids -

G (female) - 20 - ABI (Acquired brain injury)
J (male) - 13 - Aspie

I am NT (though as a night duty worker that may be debatable at times :D )

Any other Aussies in here? I live on the northern fringe of Melbourne.

I am amazed by this site and will certainly be back as often as I can. I have a thousand questions but will try to take my time with most of them.

Oh - and I have 2 English Mastiffs who keep us all grounded :)

...and, since the introduction started that way, I'm AS. Two children (28 and 26) one AS (probably), the other not. Both made it through the education system safely, though, the "normal" one a bit later than his brother.

Is the night duty debatable or the NT?
:o
Heehee.,
I'm a night-shift worker as well as an Aspie, it is why I ask.

Oh, and yes Aussie too.

Welcome.

Wow! Well thank you all very much for your welcome. This is so cool. And so many Aussies too!

My partner is American and we have lived over there for a while, but I am interested in how people negotiate the Australian system.

I do have a few questions that I would love to hear opinions on - from parents as well as those with AS. Should I post them in the parents section or the adolescents?

Also - should I bring my son here? I figure it might help him to talk to others (he hasn't met another person with AS before as far as I know)

Thanks again everyone - I am so glad I found this place.

:D
